Why I use Julian Porter Photography in Southampton
To all my readers who have followed me for many years, you will know that I love photography. Especially when I am on the road or taking photos of my daughter, Amélie. I somehow take amazing photos (according to some of you) with my bog standard camera and cellphone (and one day I will upgrade) but then sometimes when I want to create fantastic photography or I need someone behind the lens to take photos of me, for instance from when I am doing a race, when I need corporate headshots done to doing the family photoshoot at Christmas, then there is only one photographer I trust and that’s Julian Porter.
Assisted by his wife Sue, they are based on the outskirts of Southampton on England’s southern coast. I first met Julian during a marathon/half-marathon event in Milton Keynes back in May 2014 and since then we have got to know each other, done a few other running events and used his services in his workshop to do two photoshoots and I am sure many more will happen in the future. After seeing the photography at running events at Gravesend and Hursley near Winchester, I decided to use Julian for a baby shoot a few weeks after the birth of Amélie.
The few hours we were there went swimmingly and Amélie kept her composure during the shoot (with a moments of sleep as well). Julian had the props and extra material in the workshop to spice up the photos and I totally loved the results. The approach Julian and Sue used was calm, cheerful and made us feel at home and a few days later after seeing the results from the shoot, I think we printed off every photo and not just a couple. Even when my parents saw the photos, they want a couple of canvas done for their home. That’s how good I (and my folks) thought the photos were.
A few weeks ago I booked in for a double-photoshoot. One with Amélie and Olga, to get us into the Christmas spirit and the other was a corporate photoshoot as I was just starting up my own travel business. Amélie is now 2.5 years old and getting into the ‘I can’t sit still’ stage of her life. Julian has experience when it comes to photographing the little ones and once he used his charm and words which Amélie has to think about (which usually ended up with a smile from her), Amélie was in full model mode and was really enjoying herself. As you can see from the results, we were truly blessed with beautiful photos which will last a lifetime.
The corporate photoshoot went well also, Julian told me how to stand, how to pose, how to look professional. This was a first for me as I never done anything like this before. Again the results are fantastic and already being used for my business.
It’s not just photoshoots in Julian’s workshop (where baby cake smashes are offered as well), or attending sporting events, that Julian offers. He also does weddings, family photoshoots in beautiful locations and even more corporate photos at locations where the companies want him to take the photos. Julian has worked with various companies such as Tesco, NHS, B&Q, Diabetes UK to name a few. To view more of Julian Porter ‘s commercial photography, view his portfolio here.
My own personal experience is that I Julian’s professionalism, passion for photography, his knowledge and experience goes along way to creating outstanding photos but also, his prices are very good. If I was to recommend a photographer for your needs, like a wedding of course, then it would be Julian. Don’t worry about being based in Hampshire, Julian and Sue will travel all over the UK and Europe to capture your wedding day needs.
This is why I recommend Julian Porter. If any of my readers are interested about using his services then please contact him here:
